Our story.....when we started the adoption process we were very worried about the kids being able to attach to us. We never worried about us attaching to them.
That was a mistake. It can be really hard to accept any different person into your home. The effort is worth it. You need to search your heart and soul to see if you are up to the task. The kids being kids will test you..... especially in the teenage years.
At first there is a temporary feeling to the whole thing. For the first 6 months our kids were home we concentrated on building our family, establishing a routine, setting boundaries. With time everything falls into place and without even thinking about it, everything seems like it should be this way.......you get a permanent feeling.

Help me create a picture and video exchange. Send me your pictures and I will place them on snapfish where they can be accessed by other adopted families. I will set up password protected rooms on snapfish by Children home. Be sure to send me the name of the Children Home where your pictures were taken.
My husband Simon and I adopted two children from Vladivostok Orphanage Number 2 in July 2005. I want to help them connect with their past as well as their future.
On these pages we are sharing our story. We hope to hear about yours !!!!!
We would like for adoptive families and families thinking of adopting to be able to learn from all of our experiences.
Send me your stories and I'll add them to the site!!!
